A non-religious Sikh organization that continues to serve the community and the society.

State sponsored unrest and violence in the Punjab, in the early eighties, turned out to be the most cataclysmic development pertaining to the Sikh faith, during the 20th century. In an effort to present a collective response to the brutal military attack on the Sikhs' holiest shrines in the Punjab in June 1984, the local Sikh community came together to organize themselves as The Sikh Federation of Edmonton. The bearers of the Sikh flag in the initial turbulent years. The indefatigable volunteers handled formidable organizational challenges very gracefully and provided excellent representation to the Sikh community in multi-cultural, inter-religious, public affairs and political arenas. The Sikh Federation is proud to be among few non-religious Sikh organizations that continue to serve the community and the society, thirty years after coming into being.
